Here we are approaching a new year and perhaps there’s been an accumulation of habits that’s gotten us off track. Āyurveda's solution to the season of indulgence is the kitchari mono-diet. This staple food has been used for thousands of years to heal digestion and aid the body in cleansing toxins. It is a simple recipe of basmati rice, split lentils, and digestive spices that is easy to digest. When eaten exclusively for a period of time, the body has time to rest and repair, moving toxins out of the GI tract.
